Activities and Assessments Throughout The Semester
Final Exam
There will be a final exam over the unit that covers the novel and all the vocabulary discussed from beginning to end. There will also be a short answer sections where students will revisit discussion questions they have had. This section will also ask the students questions about the plot to ensure that they not only read the novel but understood the theme. Multiple choice and true and false will be on the exam as well.
Activities
There will be a activities throughout the unit that will get students engaged with the text. For example, there will be a suitcase activity where students will be asked to "fill a suitcase" in less than three minutes of all the items they would take with them if they were forced to leave their homes. There is also a paragraph activity where the students will identify three quotes from the text that had a huge impact on Elie's life.
