Elie Wiesel

Born on September 28th, 1928 in Romania. When Elie was only 15 years old he and his family were deported to Auschwitz. His mother and younger sister perished, his two older sisters survived. In remembrance of them and the other millions of Jews perished in the Holocaust. Elie Wiesel wrote what is arguably the most powerful and reowned testimony of the Holocaust. He has published more than 30 books, earning him the Nobel Peace Prize. Today he is an active citizen in the United States and spends his days promoting peace.
